The Supreme Court of Nigeria has announced the commencement of online applications for the appointment of Notaries Public, marking another significant milestone in the ongoing digital transformation of the Nigerian judiciary.

According to a circular dated 30th September 2025, signed by the Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court, Kabir E. Akanbi, Esq., and approved by the Honourable Chief Justice of Nigeria, Hon. Justice K. M. O. Kekere-Ekun, GCON, the new process allows qualified legal practitioners to conveniently submit their applications online via https://notary.supremecourt.gov.ng⁠.

The online platform replaces the long-standing manual process, providing a more transparent, efficient, and accessible system for practitioners seeking notarial appointment.

Applicants are expected to:

Visit https://notary.supremecourt.gov.ng⁠
Complete the online registration form
Upload required documents
Submit the application and await confirmation from the Supreme Court
